Bad day at school !
Balham played with spirit and strength today. They were first to the ball, won most of the tackles, defended well, attacked with pace and scored 4 goals without reply. Other than that we were all over them!
Balham took the lead after 2 minutes when Rhys hesitated on a cross and the forward nipped in, to poke the ball home. 1-0. The Colts had their best spell of the game after this and had several chances as the boys responded well. Stuart and Nathan could and should have got us level before a mistake in midfield let Balham in again. 2-0. 25 minutes played. Half time.
We move Remy into midfield to help JJ, who was one of the few that stood tall today and gave it everything. We just couldn’t get the ball to the forwards and as the defence took most of the pressure, along ball over the top led to the 3rd, as the forward jumped quicker than Rhys to the ball. 33 minutes played and 3-0 was the score.
Balham now had their tails up and were well and truly on top. The fourth came in the last minute to complete a bad day at work!
