James played a wonderful ball over the top for Stuart to run onto and lob the ball over the advancing Netherne keeper. The teams level at 2-2 with 25 minutes showing on the clock. Netherne took the lead once again 4 minutes into first half injury time with a well-placed drive into the bottom corner.2-3 at Half time.
With only 2 subs today the coaches were ringing the changes as the temperature on and off the pitch was increasing. Before the second half had got going Netherne extended their lead with a spectacular long-range effort that flew in. 2-4. 33 minutes played. But Colts weren’t finished yet. Nathan scoring with a powerful effort from James’s corner made it 3-4 after 34 minutes.
Netherne then sealed the points with three goals in 3 minutes (39, 40 and 42) the last one a penalty. But back came the Colts with a penalty of their own after Nathan was pushed in the back. Jack A-B placed it well wide of the keeper to make it 4-7 and 48 minutes on the clock.
Thank you boys for being such sportsmen this season. You have played the game fairly and you have worn the yellow of Coulsdon with pride especially today.
MoM nominations included James, Nathan, Stuart, George, Frank, David, Remy and Scott but the clear winner for playing with his heart on his sleeve is Jack Avery-Bury.
