Once upon a time, Coulsdon Colts A travelled to a faraway land to a small town with a football team who had a big reputation. Read on to discover the fate which awaited the visiting team…..
The game started well with Simon tipping the ball over the net on 2 minutes and expert passing from Ben, Ryan and Jack must have got Horsley thinking that this game wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. 15 minutes into the first half, with a cruel twist of fate, Horsley went 1-0 up due to an own goal coming off Jack’s shoulder.
This tipped the balance of play in Horsley’s favour and just before half time, they put another one away.
Our story continues with the second half and new tactics from Kings Richard I & II. Renewed vigour and expert play from Edward provided Ben with a chance at goal. And he stuck it away.

The Colts inspired by the change in their good fortune, pressed on with a spell of quality passing and clever movement by Daniel down the wing. This was backed up with a solid defence made up of Charlie and Tom. Raucous support from the sidelines encouraged the team and Ben came up trumps with the equaliser. Horsley looked on in disbelief.
But our tale is not yet over. Fierce play ensued and Jack headed in a far post goal from Luke’s corner kick. The Colts were in front and coasting for their first league victory.
Or so it would seem …
We can now reveal Horsley’s dark secret – the ref came from the land where time stood still and 1 minute into injury time (what injuries)? Horsley stole the equaliser. Our tale is now told – Horsley A 3 – Coulsdon Colts A 3. COME ON YOU COLTS!!
