OLD COULSDON COLTS FC 2
NETHERNE FALCONS 4
League 18th September 2004

Premier League New Boys Old Coulsdon Colts faced their first ever league defeat since the team started playing last season.
Four minutes into the first half and Netherne Falcons went one up. The momentum continued their way for a spell but Simon’s safe hands ensured the score line didn’t widen.
Old Coulsdon Colts’ heads didn’t drop and perseverance and pressure forced a defensive error, which enabled Luke to cleanly put away a penalty into the bottom left hand corner.

Great defending from Tom unfortunately couldn’t keep the opposition from scoring just before half time although the post denied Ben’s solo effort. (Goal posts courtesy of Rob, Simon & Wayne)!

A new half bought two early goals from Netherne. In response, The Colts bundled on the pressure and kept possession for most of the second half – even the opposition’s coach appeared quieter! And it paid off as Luke scored his second goal with a brilliant left footer.
The score line didn’t reflect the commitment from the home side, with all round good performances. Unlucky boys, if you continue like this, the season looks promising.

MAN OF THE MATCH – TOM – WELL DONE!!
